In the first phase, 80 saplings of Neem, Bihi, Jackfruit, Tamarind, Khamhar, Karanj, Sarai, Jamun etc. were planted in Youth Hostel's institutional member Adharshila Sainik School premises, Bilaspur. Chairman of Adharshila School Dr. Ajay Srivastava, Director SK Janaswamy, Acharya Chitraprabha Nand of Anand Marg School, Principal Rajesh Gupta along with children also participated in this program. Planting trees among children was to connect them with nature and make them aware of its conservation. Along with this, President of Youth Hostel Association Bilaspur, Professor Dr. Bhaskar Chaurasia, State Vice President Shailesh Shukla were also present. He told how the Youth Hostel has been working for nature for years. Youth Hostel has set a target of planting hundreds of saplings this year, under this, people will be encouraged to plant saplings and saplings will be provided to them for public plantation programs. This program is being organized under the leadership of Environment Protection Committee member of the state branch, Mansoor Khan. He told that about 50 people including small children were present. State President Sunil Vishnoi, Chairman Sandeep Seth, Secretary Subramaniam congratulated everyone on the successful completion of the program.

On this occasion, Patron of Bastar Youth Hostel Association of India Mr. Chudamani Singh Ji DFO Kanger Valley, Director of Forest School Mrs. Divya Gautam Ji, Unit Chairman Anil Lunkad, President Mr. Shankar Lal Gupta, Vice -Chairman Mr. Vidhu Shekhar Jha, Mr. Shivratan Khatri, Mr. Anil Aggarwal, Mr. Subhash Srivastava, Mr. Manish Moolchandani, Mr. Ramnaresh Pandey, Mr. Kushwaha of Forest School and the entire team of Forest School were present. Chairman informed that along with promoting tourism of Bastar, Youth Hostel will also be dedicated to the environment and is committed to make all the tourist places of Bastar a good identity in the world map. Secondly he said that saplings were planted along with the villagers in Dev Kothar of village Pidisipara Bhod near Bastar in which all the villagers participated. World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June in this village. Rural children gave a dance presentation along with elders. The women tied Raksha Sutra to every tree and took a pledge to protect the tree. Villagers and children took an oath to protect the tree and set a target of making seed balls and spreading them on the river bank.

In the same sequence, this year, under the leadership of Subodh Mahawar, head of Youth Hostel Environment Protection Committee, a program to honor environmental friends of Dhamtari district was organized at 6 am in the Corn Garden of Dhamtari. All environmental friends were honored by the Youth Hostel by presenting them with quince, saplings and souvenirs. As a bird friend, Mohan Sahu has made about 7000 wooden nests and 700 tin grain and water containers for free. As a bird friend, Gaurav Lohana and Bhoomika Mulwani have taken up the responsibility of treating animals and birds and provided about 32000 water containers. Sakare is given free to people for birds.Snake friend, Suryakant Sahu has caught more than 4000 snakes from homes and released them in safe forests under the drought-free campaign in the field of water conservation. Kushal Chopra, Akash Kataria, Mrs. Surya Lunkad and Mrs. Rakhi Rakhecha along with Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana Dhamtari. The entire team is working on deepening of four ponds in Dhamtari district.Youth Hostel Chairman Yogesh Gupta said that Youth Hostel always works in the field of environmental protection. Tree plantation, cleanliness campaign, plastic free city are important parts of our campaign. Today, the corn pond was also cleaned by the Youth Hostel. And free birds' nests were distributed by Mohan Sahu ji. The program was conducted by Youth Hostel Secretary Kushal Chopra and vote of thanks was given by EPC in-charge Subodh Mahawar.In this program, Youth Hostel's Dr. Anant Dixit, Hukumchand Jain (President), Ramesh Dev, Prof. All the members including PC Chaudhary, Manoj Lakhwani, Venkateshwar Sahu, Manish Chandrakar, Vishvesh Kotwani, Dhananjay Sonkar, Gopal Tamrakar, Rahul Gupta, Pooja Sahu, Vaishnavi Gupta, Kajal Munjwani, Deepmala Sahu, Geeta Sinha, Vijay Aggarwal were present. After this program, a very beautiful street play was presented by Janani Seva Sansthan Arjuni under the Jal Jagar program. Through which a message was given for water conservation.

Various programs were organized by Youth Hostels Association of India Bhilai unit on the occasion of World Environment Day. Tree plantation in Bhilai was organized by the members and environmental awareness was organized jointly with the National Service Scheme students of Girls College Durg.Bhilai unit chairman K. Subramaniam said that from 6 to 8 in the morning, various types of plants were planted by the members in Sector 09 and tree guards were also installed for safety. Among these, the main plants were Mango, Neem, Amla, Jamun, Banyan, Peepal, Jackfruit, Karanj, Amaltas, Gulmohar, Champa. The members who planted trees also took a pledge to protect the plants and protect the environment. President of the organization, Rishikant Tiwari said that an environmental awareness rally was organized jointly with the students of National Service Scheme of Government Dr. Vaman Vasudev Patankar Girls Post Graduate College, Durg at 11 am. The girl students will come to the rally only when there will be greenery and plants to be looked after. Secretary Subodh Dewangan said that at 12 noon, an exhibition of postage stamps focused on environment was organized by Suresh Rao, senior founder member of Bhilai unit, in room number 12 of the college. Out of curiosity, curious questions were asked by the girl students and college staff regarding the tickets of the exhibition, regarding which detailed information was given by Suresh Rao.

Vice President Manish Chandrakar ji suggested the administration to collect appropriate entry fee so that the amount can be given to the village committee to maintain cleanliness on regular basis. 932023-202416-02-2024RAIPURYHAI Raipur Unit, CG State Honoured Cyclist Mr. Indra Sen Agarwal, a member of YHAI Raipur.Mr. Indra Sen Agarwal, YHAI member started his solo Cycle journey of about 4500 kilometers from Kanyakumari to Srinagar on 16 February 2024. The main objective of this Solo Cycle yatra is to create awareness among people about blood donation and saving life. The yatra has been named Journey from Ocean to Sky. The Solo Cycle Yatra of 4500 km is estimated to be completed in approximately 45 days. Shri Indra Sen Aggarwal has donated blood 75 times. Shri Aggarwal has so far travelled 28000 kilometres by bicycle. Last year, Shri Agarwal ji had completed the Narmada Parikrama Yatra which is about 3200 kms, which was completed in 34 days. The officials of Youth Hostel Chhattisgarh State Branch and Raipur Branch honoured Mr. Agarwal on 13th February and conveyed our best wishes. In the felicitation ceremony, the Agarwal couple was welcomed with a flower bukey by the State President Mr. Sunil Vishnoi. The Agarwal couple were welcomed with garlands by Raipur Branch Chairman Mr. Shashank Moghe, Secretary Mr. Ashok Jhabak and senior member Mr. Naidu. Shri Agarwal was given a mono printed T-shirt of Youth Hostel by Raipur Unit, which he will use during the cycle journey.

His first phase is scheduled to conclude on 11 March 2024 in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Covering 28,460 kms, 23 states in 482 day. On 31st Jan when he reached Bilaspur, he was welcomed by Youth Hostel of India Bilaspur unit at Rajiv Gandhi Chowk. On behalf of YHAI Bilaspur Unit President Dr. Bhaskar Chaurasia, State Vice President Shailesh Shukla, Mr. Kapoor Wasnik, Mr. Rohit Bargal, Mr. Akshay Alkari presented him a bouquet. “Green India” session was organised in Chhattisgarh Vidyalaya, a 100 years old educational institution where he shared his experiences among the children. Children were inspired by the topics like Plant trees, Conserve water and Say No to Plastic and Environmental Imbalance.

After boating for around 3 kms, participants reached the Island base and they did a very exciting trekking of 6 to 7 KMs through the jungles and mountains. Members were provided high tea in Gangrale, Lunch in the dense forest. Enjoyment also included Karaoke songs, Dance and ended up with Certificate Distribution. Program was conducted under the leadership of Dhamtari Chairman Yogesh Gupta assisted by State Vice President Hukumchan Jain, Unit Vice President Manish Chandrakar, Treasurer Venkteshar Sahu, State APC Ramesh Dev, Unit APC member Dhananjay Sonkar along with State Secretary K. For the first time, the program of distribution of blankets to needy people is being done under the guidance of Vice President Manish Chandrakar.
