612019-202005-10-2019KORBABastar-Trekking & Training YHAI - 5th to 8th October 2019On the occasion of Platinum Jubilee of Youth Hostel Association of India, 3D2N Bastar Heritage Program was organized by Korba Unit along with Raigarh Unit and Institutional Member O.P. Jindal School, Raigarh. 50 participants from Korba, Raigarh, Champa, Bilaspur and Raipur including 24 children participated in the program. The program was scheduled from 5th to 8th October 2019.Under the leadership of Mr. Sandeep Seth (Program organizer & HDC C.G. State) & Mr. Prashant Mishra (Chairman Raigarh Unit) all the participants gathered in Raipur, where news team of IBC24 made a documentary on YHAI trip and its mission. Mr. Ashok Jhabak and Mr Vikram of Raipur unit helped the team in managing dinner arrangements for all the participants. Then team later proceeded to Jagdalpur.YHAI CG state President Dr. K Subramaniam, Jagdalpur CCF Mohd. Shahid and Forest Officer Mr. Ashok Sonwani, streamlined the Govt. officials which helped the participants to run a Clean Drive program in Tirathgarh waterfall and collected 2 sacks and 4 cartoon foil, Plastic bottle, pouches etc. and disposed them.40 members of Andhra Pradesh's YHAI team reached Jagdalpur under the leadership of Mr. Bhaskar Rao ji HDC where they too saw all the waterfalls etc.Later on, team went to Danteshwari Devi and took the blessings of Danteshwari Devi. While enjoying Bastar Dussehra, everyone saw how the crown of the Mother Goddess is brought from there to Jagdalpur.
622019-202018-08-2019KORBAMadwarani Trekking & Training Program 18.08.2019Around 50 Members including new, participated in the program on 18th Aug 19. Nearly 12 junior members from our new Institute IYER Coaching Classess also participated actively. After giving proper instructions to all the participants at Licensee Youth Hostel Hotel SHALIN by the Korba Chairman Sandeep Seth the team proceeded to Madwarani about 25 KM from Korba.After doing sapling plantation by the team the trek started. A inclined trek of 5 KM took about 2 hours. Musical program was conducted under the leadership of Mr. Ravi. Certificate distribution was done after taking lunch. On return the team collected 3 sacs and 7 big polythene of plastic garbage which was disposed properly later near Korba. Female members and youngster did a tremendous work for garbage collection.
632019-202028-07-2019KORBASapling Plantation on 28.07.2019 at Bharat Vidya Mandir, Dadar , KorbaMembers of Youth hostels association of India , Korba unit Chhattisgarh had a Sapling Plantation program at Bharat Vidya Mandir - Govt. School, Dadar nearly 5 km from Korba City. The school was benefitted with more than 50 fruits and flowers giving plants. The Saplings were planted in an area of around one acre of land. Nearly 35 participants actively participated in the program including women and youngster . Some new members also participated and lent their support and labour. At the closure of programme a CLEANLINESS drive program was also stirred by the members and two cartoon polythene was collected from the school play ground area and was disposed properly in the Korba City. Cleanliness program was initiated by Vijesh along with Kalpana Seth, Nilima Subba, Sharda Namdeo, Rekha Kewat, Riya Vijesh in which kids also participated voluntarily. Korba unit President Satish Shukla, Chairman Sandeep Seth, Secretary Shailendra Namdeo, Organizing Secretary Shyam Kewat, Treasure Vijesh N V and all other members with their family members were involved in the program. Head Master of the school Mr. Patel joined the program and thanked YHAI for plantation and Cleanliness program. Vipin Mishra ,Ravi Sharma, Swaroop, Sanjay Tiwari, Subba, Shiv Shankar, Vikas patel and all other members actively participated along with their family member. Chairman introduced YHAI, its Institutional Membership and individual membership to the new members. Vote of thanks was given by the secretary.
642018-201902-09-2018KORBASIRPUR Heritage Trekking & Training Program 02.09.2018Youth Hostel Association of India - Korba unit successfully organized Sirpur Heritage trekking and training program: ‘Sirpur Heritage Trekking and Training Program’, organizesd by Youth Hostel Association of India - Korba unit, started towards Sirpur after reporting from Korba Youth Hostel (Hotel Shalin, Transport Nagar, Korba). After a visit to ‘Sabari temple’ in Shivrinarayan, Sirpur trekking team reached Whensang Resort, Sirpur and followed by registration process & Lunch, team forwarded to visit ‘Surang Qila Temple’, ‘Gandeshwar Mahadev Temple’, ‘The Royal Palace complex’, ‘Lakshmana Temple’, ‘Rama Temple’ ,‘Buddhist Monestery’ and returned back Korba after tour of all the ancient sites. The ‘Sirpur’ or ‘Sripur’ is located in Mahasamund district, about 180 Km. southwest from Korba. Antiquities of Sirpur history are scattered in 10 kilometres. It can be imagined about glory of this region after watching the remains here. In about 5th century, Maha Shivagupta Balarjun built this place as a centre of administration and thus it became famous. The religious tolerance in the site comprises Buddhist, Jain, Bhakt, Vaishnavism is a combination of equally important religious harmony and that is clearly reflected in all the monuments, temples, artefacts built in Sirpur. . After returning to Korba, the certificate distribution to all participants took place. President of Youth hostels Korba unit, Shri Satish Shukla Ji encouraged all participants for taking part in this program and expecting active participation in upcoming events. Korba unit Chairman, Shri Sandeep Seth and Secretary, Shailendra Namdeo expressed their gratitude to all and appealed for such cooperation in all upcoming programs. The cooperation of Mr. Vijesh N V, Mr. Dhannbahadur Subba, Mr. Shyam Kainwat, Mr. Sharda Namdeo, Mrs. Ria Vijesh, Mrs. Nilu Subba was appreciated for the successful arrangement of this program.
652017-201802-12-2017KORBAKanchan Pahaad Heritage Trekking and Training Program 02.12.2017The Kanchan Pahar Heritage Tracking and Training Program of Korba / Youth Hostel Association of India Korba unit was conducted on 2 December today at Kanchan Pahar situated near village Gadkatara in Korba Satarenga Marg.Members of Youth Hostel Association of India Korba unit gathered near Open Theaters and reached village Gadkatra in their vehicles. Before starting the tracking, the program convenor Shri Shailendra Namdev gave the information about the precautions to be kept in the tracking. After about an hour's climb, the trekking team reached Kanchan Pahad. Studied the old remains scattered on the small of the Kanchan mountain and enjoyed the natural scenery, as well as seeing the view of the Satarenga drowning area.Children participated extensively in the Heritage Tracking and Training Program. On the way, Shyam Kewat and Mohan Lal Sahuji conducted bird watching and identified the herbs located in the forest and gave detailed information about their use. Special care was taken for cleanliness during the program. The unit chairman and the head of the Cosphere Sandeep Seth and Vijesh informed about the cleanliness drive of the village, collecting plastic scattered from Kanchan Pahar to village Gadkatara, while giving the message of environment while descending from the mountain.Finally, the Youth Hostel Association of India Korba unit distributed the certificate, thanking all the participants.

672016-201702-10-2016KORBA Ajgarbahar- GREEn & CLEAN Korba - Trekking 02.10.2016Members of Korba / Youth Hostels Association of India Korba unit clean up among Korwa people of village by registering their presence in the dependent village Tonkabhata of Ajgarbahar panchayat of Korba development block on 2 October, the birthday of former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtriji and Mahatma Gandhi Korba - Gheera Korba gave the message. Explained the importance of cleaning and also gave the necessary direction. More than 25 members of the association connected the villagers of the area with them and took a cleanliness drive along with all of them. The villagers took this campaign handsomely and insisted on working on the facts given by the members. The villagers vowed not to allow any dirt in their village nor let anyone do it. Prior to the cleanliness drive, the team members along with the villagers trekked up to Machilada Cave near the village, which is located in the Maikal mountain range, about 30 km north of Korba. The trekking team reached the trekking site after leaving from Budhwari market at 7 am. The team was led by senior members Shyam Kevat and Dhanbahadur Subba Duy. The members of the trekking team were informed about the herbs found in the forest and how they can be used as first aid.

692016-201731-07-2016KORBASapling Pantation on 31.07.2016 (With Family) at Valmiki Aashram KorbaThe Plantation and Jungle Tour Program was organized by the Youth Hostel Association of India Korba unit. Program Organizer Mr. Sandeep Seth, while addressing all, told that trees not only make the earth fertile but also generate consciousness in our life. If we want to protect our civilization and culture, we should not only plant more and more trees but also follow them. All the participating members along with the family met near the open theater at 8 am and then planted trees at the Maharishi Valmiki Ashram located at Balco Road ITI. Thereafter, he visited the forest near Dumardih with all the family members. The children also assisted in this work. Mr. Birbal Ji of Valmiki Ashram who is an All India Executive Member of Kalyan Ashram, was present with the whole family. The children of the ashram also participated in this program.In the successful organization of the program, Shri Mohanlal Sahu Ji, Shri Satish Shukla Ji, Shri Manoj Mishra Ji, Dhanbahadur Subba Ji, Shyam Kewat Ji, Sandeep Seth Ji and their family got full support.
702015-201612-06-2016KORBAParsakhola Ride and Track 12.06.2016Youth Hostel Association of India Korba Unit in memory of Late P R Ratre conducted a Ride & Track program concluded near Parsakhola.On June 12, everyone gathered near the clock tower at 7:30 am according to the predetermined time. Members from the pass joined the trekking team from Major Dhyanchand Chowk at Rumgara. This trekking team of 9 members reached Paraskola after completing a journey of about one and a half hours, experiencing the trekking through the footpaths, bumpy paths between the forests of Parsakhola. On reaching there, everyone's fatigue disappeared after seeing the panoramic view. It seemed that some 15 kilometers from Korba have reached a hill station, surrounded by dense forests, surrounded by mountains on 2 sides and a drain on one side, Village Parsakhola. The team was tracked to the site and along with the members of the team Dr. Dinesh and Dr. Bhaskar Shriwas, knowing the botanical shastra, identified and used the herbs of the forest. There is an abundance of Ayurvedic herbs at this site. After the trekking, all the members were welcomed by the convenor of the unit, Shailendra Namdev, and gave information about the work of the institution and gave information related to the life of PR Ratreji. He also urged to make more and more members of the organization. Senior member of YHAI Sandeep Seth urged all the members to carry forward the youth hostel campaign by burning together. It may be noted that the YHAI Korba unit has been in operation for about 15 years and many programs have been organized. This track was organized in the memory of the late member of our Korba unit, the late PR Ratre ji. Shri Ratre has not been with us for the last few months.
