All the members left from Jagdalpur at the scheduled time and reached the tourist spot through dense forests where they were welcomed by the villagers in their traditional way. Many different jungle fruits were given to eat. After that jungle trek and bamboo rafting was enjoyed by all the members. Tribal food was also arranged for all the members by the villagers. Triya Sangam Forest is known for its natural waterfalls, dense forests and mountains, it is a great tourist destination of Bastar, it is located at a distance of about 26 kilometers from Jagdalpur headquarters. 30 participants from the age group of 7 years to 30 years took part in this jungle trek.

Unit successfully completed its trekking program at Topper water fall of Darbha block situated nearly 40KM from the HQ. The program involved Youths of age group 5 to 30 years. Topper Falls is on the border of Kanger Valley National Park and the waterfall is surrounded by rocks and lush green forests. Participants had a nature trail of 3 kilometer before they reached the waterfall. The team under the leadership of Ms Rekha , Unit Secretary started from Jagdalpur at 8AM. The program included Trekking, delicious food, certificate distribution, games etc. Around 30 members participated in the trek. State President , Chairman and other officials congratulated Ms Rekha for the successful completion of the program.

The program included Marathon (Race to beat AIDS) and Clean Drive Mission to Keep Jagdalpur Clean & Green. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjay Basak, Dr. Maitri, Dr. Reena Lakshmi and Professor K.L. Azad participated as guest speakers. Dr. Basak resolved to make Bastar AIDS free by highlighting the horrors of PLHA, the changed name of AIDS. Approx 180 participants took part in th eprogram including YHAI members. Chairman Anil Lunkad informed that we will continue this activity everyyear. Ms Rekha, Dr. K L Azad, V S Jha, Anil agrawal, Ratan Vyas and many other members were present in the program.

Around 45 members participated in the program. The program was organised under the leadership of Chairman Anil Lunkad and treasurer Vinit Agrawal.Participants had a trek of about 5KM and then had a delicious lunch in traditional manner. Many new members also joined the program. Music, Dance and other short programs were organied by the team. Anil Lunkad also gave introduction of YHAI to all the members. State President, Chairman, Secretary and Other members congratulated Team Jagdalpur for the sucessful completion of the program.

International Yoga Day was celebrated today at Indira Stadium, Jagdalpur in which Youth Hostel also gave its full participation. Mr. Pawan Sai ji, Kiran Dev ji, distinguished citizens of various institutions of the city, Bastar Commissioner, IG, Collector, SP and people of various institutions of the city collectively celebrated International Yoga Day with joy and happiness. Youth Hostel Jagdalpur unit provided its services as a volunteer. About 2000 people participated in the event.

On this occasion, Patron of Bastar Youth Hostel Association of India Mr. Chudamani Singh Ji DFO Kanger Valley, Director of Forest School Mrs. Divya Gautam Ji, Unit Chairman Anil Lunkad, President Mr. Shankar Lal Gupta, Vice -Chairman Mr. Vidhu Shekhar Jha, Mr. Shivratan Khatri, Mr. Anil Aggarwal, Mr. Subhash Srivastava, Mr. Manish Moolchandani, Mr. Ramnaresh Pandey, Mr. Kushwaha of Forest School and the entire team of Forest School were present. Chairman informed that along with promoting tourism of Bastar, Youth Hostel will also be dedicated to the environment and is committed to make all the tourist places of Bastar a good identity in the world map. Secondly he said that saplings were planted along with the villagers in Dev Kothar of village Pidisipara Bhod near Bastar in which all the villagers participated. World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June in this village. Rural children gave a dance presentation along with elders. The women tied Raksha Sutra to every tree and took a pledge to protect the tree. Villagers and children took an oath to protect the tree and set a target of making seed balls and spreading them on the river bank.

Team started from Jagdalpur at 6.30 AM and reached the home stay Amcho Ladi of Manjhipal village of Darbha block which is located 38 km from Jagdalpur. After Introduction and breakfast the trekking started at 10AM. The trek was done in Kanger Valley which was very challenging and took 5 hrs to cover a distance of 6 KM to and fro. New members were happy to join the trek. Team crossed river 3 times during the trek which was most attractive part of the Program. At the end of a trekking a hidden water fall was visible thereafter surrounded by the mountains. This was the first trek as informed by many participants.Ms Rekha & Mr. Anil Lunkad gave the introduction of YHAI. Program ended with certificate distribution after having a delicious lunch. State team congratulated the Adhoc Unit and its members for organizing a successful program.

This little doll Shravani Dubey has done such a wonderful thing, which makes elders sweat. Shravani climbed a mountain of thirteen and a half thousand feet height in a trekking campaign and took the title of becoming the first girl of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to climb such a height. Shravani accompanied her father to participate in the Himalayan Trekking cum Expedition organized by the Youth Hostel Association of India at DEV KYARA in Uttar Kashi district of Uttarakhand.Program ended by giving farewell to Retd. Navy CDR Sandeep Murarka , Chairman Bilaspur Unit CG. He has been transferred to Bilaspur from Jagdalpur.

Around 20 member team was present. Saplings of Guava, Neem, Amla, Almond etc were planted on the occassion. Necessary arrangement for watering the plants and protection was also done by the team. The program was lead by Shri Anil Lunkad. Other members present were State President Shri Sunil Vishnoi, CDR Sandeep Murarka, Vidhu Shekhar Jha, Shankar Lal Agrawal, Anil Agrawal, Ms Rekha, Ms Lipi, Mr Vyas , Yogesh Gupta, Shri Shrivastava ,Dr. K L Azad, Shiv Ratan Khatri. Anil Lunkad informed the members that very soon new programs will be made for the members. State members congratulated the team for the successful program.
