A one-day monsoon trekking and training program was successfully organized on 14th September 2025 at Kunadhas Waterfall located in Khairagarh district. A total of 55 participants, including men and women of all age groups from Durg-Bhilai, Raipur and Rajnandgaon took part in this adventurous and nature-filled event. During the trek, members also enjoyed the natural and thrilling beauty of Dongeshwar Mahadev Temple (Chordradhama) and the Betalrani Valley. The Key contributors to the success of this event included Rishikant Tiwari, President – Durg-Bhilai Unit , Sudhir Awadhiya, Vice President, K. Subramaniam, Chairman, Hemlal Devangan, Treasurer, Subodh Devangan, Secretary, Minesh Mishra, Coordinator Rajnandgaon Unit . Their dedicated efforts played a significant role in making the event a grand success.
22025-202607-09-2025KORBAYHAI Korba Unit, Chhattisgarh State, actively participated in the global campaign “Say HI for Peace” by organizing a 5 KM Walkathon (which also included crossing a river) and distributing sweets and stationery items to school children of Khetar village.YHAI Korba Unit, Chhattisgarh State, actively participated in the global campaign “Say HI for Peace” by organizing a 5 KM Walkathon (which also included crossing a river) and distributing sweets and stationery items to school children of Khetar village.On 7th September 2025, the Korba Unit conducted multiple activities including a 5 KM Walkathon, Monsoon Trek, Bike Ride, and Philanthropic Work. The program was held under the leadership of State Chairman, Mr. Sandeep Seth, at Khetar village and Dhiharin Jhooja, located about 25 KM from Korba. Around 40 members of the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) enthusiastically participated in the event.As part of the global campaign “Say HI for Peace”, sweets and stationery were distributed to village school children. Members also enjoyed water sports, lunch, high tea, and cultural bonding activities. Active members including P. L. Mirendra, Kalpana,Swati and Tribhuvan contributed significantly to the success of the program. Certificates were awarded by the Chief Guest, Shri A. Y. Tomar (SE, CSPGCL) and Guest of Honour, Shri M. C. Soni.Many new members also took part along with the old members. Shiv Kumari, Shraddha, Babli, Myra, Navita, Beli, Padma, Ritika, Alka, Deepesh, R. R. Soni, Kanti, RS Sahu, DR Sahu, Rajkumar, Sanjay, Sadhna, Vijesh, Riya, Vihaan, Vivaan, Kunti, Vandana etc. participated in the program.All the paper disposals were disposed properly keeping the environment clean and green.The event concluded with group photography and a vote of thanks delivered by Secretary Mr. Shailendra.
32025-202601-09-2025BHILAIYHAI CG State Units Hold “Sleep for Peace” Campaign & Trekking at Bhothli Bhujari on 01 sep 2025.YHAI CG State Units Hold “Sleep for Peace” Campaign & Trekking at Bhothli Bhujari on 01 sep 2025.Durg-Bhilai/Rajnandgaon: The Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), Chhattisgarh State Durg-Bhilai and Rajnandgaon Adhoc Units, organised the global campaign Sleep for Peace with the theme “Say HI for Peace” , along with a one-day trekking program at Bhothli Bhujari Waterfall.As part of the peace initiative, members distributed books, stationery, toys, chocolates, and juices to school children of Bhujari village and clothes to villagers of all ages . A peace march was also conducted to spread the message of harmony. Around 90 participants from Durg-Bhilai, Rajnandgaon, Raipur, and Khairagarh trekked nearly two kilometres through rocky terrain to reach the Bhothli Bhujari Waterfall, where they enjoyed water activities. The program was coordinated by senior members Rajesh Mishra (Khairagarh) and Minesh Mishra (Rajnandgaon), with leadership support from Unit President Rishikant Tiwari, Chairman K. Subramaniam, and Secretary Subodh Dewangan.

We are delighted to share that Shri Sanjeev Kansal, Chief Engineer (DSPM, TSPO), has graciously accepted the patronship of the Youth Hostel Korba Unit.A delegation of core members including Satish Shukla, P. L. Mirendra, Shiv Kumari, Kalpana, and Unit Chairman Sandeep Seth visited the CSEB plant to present the proposal. They were accompanied by active members Mr. Tomar and Atul Shukla. During the visit, the team met Shri Sanjeev Kansal at his office, where Unit Chairman Sandeep Seth briefed him about the adventurous and developmental activities of Youth Hostels. Shri Kansal kindly agreed to accept the proposal. On this occasion, Satish Shukla extended a floral welcome, and Shri Kansal was honoured with the official YHAI badge by P L Mirendra. It is worth noting that the Korba Unit of Youth Hostel was established in 1999 under the leadership of Late Shri Sanjeev Soni. 26th August is celebrated as a Foundation day of YOUTH Hostel in the fond memories of Late Richard Schirrmann , a German Teacher.
52025-202617-08-2025RAIPURTrekking & Training Program by YHAI Raipur Unit on 17.08.2025Raipur, August 17: The Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), Raipur Unit (Chhattisgarh State), successfully conducted an exhilarating one-day monsoon trekking and training event at the scenic Narhara Waterfall, located near Nathukona, approximately 125 km from Raipur. Braving the lush monsoon landscape, around 60 enthusiastic trekkers from Raipur, Bhilai, and Korba units participated in the jungle trek, embracing both the thrill of adventure and the serenity of nature. The expedition was led by Unit Chairman Sunil Vishnoi and Unit Secretary Ashok Jhabak, who ensured a well-organized and safe experience for all participants. Among the active trekkers were Varun, Tarak, Raju, Rahul, Dr. Nishant, Rajendra Vaishnav, Sunita Nayak, Priyam Khare, and many others who added great energy and spirit to the event. The trek not only promoted physical fitness and environmental awareness but also strengthened camaraderie among YHAI members across the state.

The national flag was hoisted by Smt. Suman Seth and Swati Verma, marking the beginning of a vibrant and patriotic celebration.The program featured two patriotic dance performances by Shivanji and Kavya, which were warmly appreciated by the audience. Inspiring speeches were delivered by Aarav and Sankalp, capturing the spirit of independence and national pride. All participants were honored with certificates and mementos by YHAI in recognition of their involvement. Shri Tribhuvan Kaushik, Vice President of YHAI Korba, shared his thoughts on the significance of the day. Swati Verma also narrated a short and moving story highlighting the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Media Coordinator Shri Tarun Mishra gave an insightful overview of YHAI's remarkable growth over the past 26 years. Chairman Shri Sandeep Seth encouraged the participants with motivational words and conveyed the message of the State President to the members. He also congratulated the team for their excellent performance in increasing membership and organizing impactful programs. The event was smoothly hosted by Shri Premlal Mirendra. During this session, students were informed about the various activities organized by YHAI. Discussions were held on how activities like trekking, hiking, camping, cycling, and excursions are essential for their overall development. The interaction was attended by Unit Secretary Mr. Shailesh Shukla and Joint Secretary Mr. Mansoor Khan, along with the schools lecturer Mr. Devendra Thakur and Sports Teacher Mr. Raju Thakur. An excursion to Kanan Pendari for the students of Kota School has been scheduled for August 19, organized by the Youth Hostels Association. The Students who participated in GEDI DANCE , Platinum Jubilee program held at Delhi in December 2024 were awarded by the certificates. The unit also proudly represented Chhattisgarh’s traditional Gedi dance during YHAIs 75th anniversary celebration in Delhi. In addition to adventure programs, the unit has been active in social service initiatives like tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, and events for differently-abled children. YHAI Dhamtari Unit CG State organized Aara Track cum Kanwar Yatra on 27/07/25.Chairman, Hukam Chand said that due to the month of Sawan, this religious and natural track has been organized on the demand of the members. While giving information about the organization, President Ramesh Dev said that Youth Hostel has been doing the work of environmental awareness and trekking in Dhamtari for the last two decades. The track work was completed under the leadership of Dhananjay Sonkar and Yogesh Gupta. The track started from Rudreshwar Ghat and ended after trekking to Baba Koteshwar Mahadev and back to Gahandar Dhara from there. Subodh Mahavar, Dr. Shesh Narayan Chandrakar, Satram Vashni, Dr. Bhupendra Soni, Dr. Shakti Verma, Dr. Preeti Verma, Dr. Dharmendra Singha, Dr. Preeti Sinha, Sagar Kaushik etc were present in the trek.

Members from Durg Bhilai, Rajnandgaon and Raipur also participated in this event. A total of 42 male and female members of all age groups participated & visited various archaeological and historical sites of the region. During trekking, the members visited a total of eight sites of archaeological and historical importance. All the sites represent the rich heritage of Chhattisgarh.
